Shingle Creek: A Brief Summer View

Video No Comment

Shingle Creek — the headwaters of the Everglades — offers fantastic views of nature amongst the most placid of settings, despite being right next to the heart of Orlando’s tourist industry. Watch and see some of natures beauty hiding in the urban jungle. These waters originate just north of Sand Lake Road to the east of the Lockheed-Martin plant. Eventually, all of this water will make its way to Lake Okeechobee by way of the Kissimmee lake chain and the Kissimmee River. Along the way, it will accumulate pollutants from a vast array of sources from golf courses to parking-lot runoff, exacerbating the already disastrous events stemming from Lake Okeechobee. This is all of our backyards.
